Annual Service of Remembrance, 10 November, hosted by the Ambassador of India Mr H.E Kumar Tuhin.

We remembered with gratitude those who lost their lives in the cause of freedom, who made the supreme scrifice.

Wreaths were laid at the memorial stone, flowers were laid on the individual graves by Scouts and Children of the Commonwealth.

Five members represented our club at the Annual Service of Remembrance. Our wreath has the red, blue and white poppies.

28 September 2024, annual Afternoon Tea to honor our honorary members, at the Australian Embassy residence. We enjoyed delicious food and tea, and we had a raffle to win a lovely hamper with goodies, for an afternoon tea for two at home. Ambassador Greg French told the story about the tapestry. Intrigued? 31 August 2024, annual summer party/bbq, in the lovely garden of our NZ ambassador in Wassenaar. We had beautiful weather, scrumptious food and delightful company. Everyone had a good chat and a laugh or chuckle together enjoying our drinks and food. It was a typical convivial Kiwi/Aussie event!

On 25 June we had a delicious brunch at El Niño Beach Club, Scheveningen. Rob was our very special guest of honour, and we enjoyed the opportunity to talk things over and reminisce in the summer sunshine.

2 June: A visit to Lemmer, lunch in the lovely town of Lemmer, where we also had a walk around the sights of town. After that we enjoyed a fantastic guided tour at the pumping station Wouda Gemaal, one of the most important instruments for water management in the provincie Friesland. Since 1988 it is on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites.

April: Van Kleef Distilleries, Den Haag, a lively group enjoying an afternoon tasting cocktails based on jenever (Dutch gin). They have an amazing array of gin based liqueurs from chocolate and coffee to salted butter (butterscotch). The accompanying snacks separated the different flavours and softened the alcohol.

A delicious yum cha lunch to celebrate Chinese New Year!

A wonderful way to start the year, we gathered to celebrate Australia & Waitangi Day at the New Zealand Embassy Residence. Typically Antipodean fare was a great cure for the chilly, January weather! Pies, peas and mash with the most delicious desserts.
